Microblading Your Eyebrows - 10 Things You Need to Know

We all know about having your eyebrows “on fleek”, but how exactly does one achieve the perfect eyebrow? More focus on our eyebrows means more care, maintenance, and a daily routine of precision. Getting ready before going out in public takes chunks of time out of our day even though many of us wish we didn’t have to. That’s why microblading your eyebrows is one of the hottest trends at the moment.

Luckily with the microblading technique, you could have perfect looking eyebrows that’s also free of any tedious maintenance. Let’s look at everything you need to know right now about microblading your eyebrows.

Only Two Appointments
Microblading has a pretty minimal process that’ll rid you of any daily maintenance on your eyebrows. It only requires two separate appointments and both of them should only take you less than 2 hours each time. The first appointment consists of both a consultation with your desired artist, and the actual procedure. You spend about one hour discussing the eyebrow look that you want and you’ll learn about aftercare. Afterwards, it takes about another hour having your procedure done.

You won’t have to worry about your second appointment until 6 weeks later. This time, it should take between one and half hours to two hours for touch-ups. It’s important to note that here, you can communicate with your artist about any adjustments you would like to make. If any of your expectations aren’t met like your eyebrow color, shape, or thickness, you can have all of the necessary adjustments made. Overall, that’s all you need! Your microbladed eyebrows will last anywhere from 18 months to 3 years.

Bold Color at First
If you notice that your eyebrow color is different than what you expected right after your microblading procedure, there’s no need to worry. Microblading inserts pigment into your skin, so the color is likely to look fresh. You can expect your eyebrows to look thicker or more crisp than you desired after a few days. This is all normal and part of the healing process. Soon enough (after a few weeks) the pigment will fade into a much more natural looking color!

Hair Growth Stunts are a Myth
A regular concern of people interested in microblading is that it will stop your natural hair growth. It actually doesn’t stop your hair growing at all. Microblading only uses gentle strokes (scratching the surface) on your skin. The only focus will be on the areas of your eyebrows with
Hair Growth Stunts are a Myth
A regular concern of people interested in microblading is that it will stop your natural hair growth. It actually doesn’t stop your hair growing at all. Microblading only uses gentle strokes (scratching the surface) on your skin. The only focus will be on the areas of your eyebrows with thin hair. It doesn’t have any kind of permanent effect on your body which is great for people who don’t like huge commitments.

Not Permanent Like a Tattoo
Microblading is frequently compared to eyebrow tattoos. While the two are very similar, the microblading process is designed to be semi-permanent.. Tattoos on the other hand, are meant to be permanent and typically use electric tools that penetrate deep layers of the skin. Microblading uses tiny needles that put pigments closer to the surface layers of the skin. The pigment used with microblading is also designed to break down over time rather than permanent tattoo pigments.

It’s Pretty Much Painless
Some of us are scared of having work done on our bodies, while others have a fear of needles. If it makes you feel any better, microblading is an almost painless process. Even if you have a low tolerance for pain, a numbing cream is offered to you by your microblading artist. Microblading only consists of gentle scraping of the skin around your eyebrow area. Afterwards, you may feel like you have sunburn where the microblading work was done. While it’s a slight discomforting feeling in the healing process, it certainly isn’t painful!

Don’t Let Scabs Freak You Out!
Scabbing is a totally normal part of the microblading technique. Your skin is healing from the small needles because pigment was deposited in your skin. During the process, the upper levels of your skin are broken down which means you need to take a few weeks to heal. Scabbing is expected and it’s only a temporary stage of microblading. Try to avoid skin products or rubbing anything into your skin. It’s best to let your skin heal naturally.

Coconut Oil is Your Friend
Coconut oil has plenty of awesome benefits that help with your healing stage. Coconut oil creates a thin protective layer over your skin which helps moisturize the area and protect against infections. It also soothes and repairs the irritated skin area. Coconut oil is all natural, easily found in almost any retail store, supermarket, and has plenty of options for sale online.
